“I like it when an actor is secure enough to ask questions and the director is secure enough not to be threatened by that.

[…] Film is an emotional medium ; it’s not a logical medium. It’s not an intellectual medium, so every decision you make as a filmmaker and an actor has to be emotional in some way, even in the rejection of logic. […] I had always wanted to do a thriller, a caper. I didn’t have to watch any other films. I tried to read and stay in that world and let the film come to itself... As a filmmaker, you serve the story.

I want you to be fulfilled and create your own picture, give you enough information to create your own picture. […] I guess making an adult drama is a daring act these days […]. You have to believe that there is an audience there.

I believe in this kind of movie, and that there is an audience for it. People like to be challenged and entertained. What I want to do is hide them inside a compelling dramatic movie.”
